We are fortunate to be able to invite Italian scholar Silvia Bruzzi, author of Islam and gender in colonial northeast Africa: Sitti 'Alawiyya, the uncrowned queen to discuss her recent work, “The Italian Empire and its Legacies: Queering Libya and Eritrea as Hubs of a Hybrid Imperial Space.” We will read the paper draft in advance.
