Africa is an exciting, dynamic, and challenging place. The Center for African Studies aims to introduce students to the continent by promoting courses about Africa in departments throughout the University, by encouraging students to learn African languages, by promoting the Model African Union, and by supporting study abroad in Africa. We sponsor many events for students throughout the year: an Open House, films by African filmmakers, talks on topical events, and workshops on employment opportunities related to African Studies. We’re here to serve you! Please feel free to contact us to join our student listserv and consider taking advantage of the Minor Program in African Area Studies. Rutgers is the best place to learn about Africa in the New York/ New Jersey region—don’t miss out!
